know. We’ll turn over logs and dig into dark places in

That’s
what Grass River’s trees are! From the smallest sapling
to the tallest pine each tree plays an important role in

all junior scientists and nature freaks! If you know a
child who really loves the outdoors and gets excited
about what he sees or finds, then these classes are for
her. For four Fridays in August we’ll take a look at one

“Go Fish”
“F” is
for fantastic. “I” is for incredible. “S” is for
stupendous. “H” is for happy which is what the fish will
be when we don’t use hooks to catch them and we let them
go. Come “catch and release” with a naturalist and we’ll
find out what fish are all about. Class size is

“Swamp Stomp”
Bring
your stomping boots (or an old pair of sneakers) and be
prepared to get muddy! We’ll explore the swampy parts of
Grass River, off-trail, that many people never see.

“The Scoop on Bugs”
Get a
look at bug beginnings as we dip into the underwater
world here at Grass River. It’s a busy world in the
ripples, on the bottom, and along the bank. We will
discover and learn about these little critters that are
the basis of life in the wetlands. Class size is

Don’t
play tootsie with the Sundew or poke the Pitcher Plant!
Carnivorous plants really don’t nibble on us, but bugs
